I started my Yoga journey when pregnant with my youngest son. It was an experience that added great joy to such a happy 9 months. Yoga allowed me to reflect and stop the 'noise', even if just for a moment. Years later, when the opportunity presented itself to become a certified yoga teacher I knew it would be a perfect fit. Combining my love of therapy with yoga and mindfulness... destiny! I knew I was onto something bigger than myself.
I committed myself to my practice and had the opportunity to train via the Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program (YMTPP) and finalize my training at one of the best training sites, Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. The experience encouraged me to pursue my own practice!
Listen, life gets busy! I understand the challenges we face when it comes to finding the time to devote to our overall wellness. That’s why I started Self Centered Wellness, LLC. I created a space where mindful yoga techniques and practices are used to help support your overall well-being. In addition, holding space for those hard topics related to our lives for organizations and companies.
For the past few years, I have provided classes, workshops and professional developments in schools across NYC. Most recently, training teachers for the NYC Department of Education YMTPP yoga program. Supporting others through the mind and body is the goal whether I'm collaborating with other Wellness organizations or conducting independent groups or private sessions.
I aim to shatter the myth that taking the time to care for yourself is selfish. A lot of our time is spent focused on meeting the needs and expectations of others in our personal and professional lives.
